Indoor Air Quality

Good Indoor Air Quality with
HVAC Filters from Delta Filtration

Delta Filtration

Minipleated Filter Products for Good Ventilation

HVAC filters from Delta Filtration can be used in all heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems. Delta's HVAC filters are carefully designed to ensure constant indoor air quality in a reliable and cost-effective way.

Effective HVAC filters are more important for maintaining indoor air quality than many people realize. Most people are conscious of the dangers of air pollution outdoors, particularly in cities. Gases emitted by automobiles and industries have produced blankets of pollution over most major cities which often spill over into other areas. Many persons are not aware that indoor air quality can be even more affected, and yet the majority of people spend as much as 90% of their time indoors. The fact is, there can be up to 700 times more pollution indoors than out of doors. Why is this?

There are many factors contributing to bad air, making it essential to use good quality HVAC filters in all ventilation systems. One of the causes of interior pollution is that a great deal of effort nowadays goes into making buildings airtight in order to prevent escape of heat, both for the purpose of energy conservation and in order to maintain a comfortable, draught-free environment. Especially since the 1970s many buildings which formerly were naturally ventilated have given way to tightly sealed air-conditioned ones and "sick building syndrome" has emerged. There are many sources of indoor air pollution: tobacco smoke is one of the chief culprits, with its cocktail of lethal chemicals; building materials and furnishings, especially when new, give off low levels of pollutants such as formaldehyde from chemicals used in their manufacture; ironically, even products for cleaning and maintenance themselves emit their vapours - carpets especially absorb various cleaners and solvents and then give these off gradually over a period of time; and, especially affecting office environments, chemicals used in the manufacture of computers, especially those added to VDUs as fire-retardants, emit very high levels of pollutants when the appliances are new. When the same air continues to be recycled there is a vital need for these pollutants to be filtered out effectively.

Indoor air quality being affected by these factors is of serious concern to employers. When pollutants are not effectively filtered out from the circulating air, productivity can be compromised as personnel may suffer from headaches or lethargy, or worse, sickness resulting in absenteeism. Longterm health problems can also result, as exposure to contaminants inside buildings can eventually trigger an intolerance to outdoor pollutants.

HVAC filters from Delta Filtration possess the superior qualities needed to maintain the quality of circulating indoor air:
